Hey guys,
It's starting to look like Iowa is an anti-Powerdynamo vortex, or just for the triples as it works just fine on my RD400.
My H1E will run great up to 6500 rpm and then feels like it hits a rev limiter. I got an email from Edgar at PD customer
service with this link.
http://www.powerdynamo.biz/eng/kb/triples.htmIt shows some of these systems were sent out with misplaced timing marks so I just took my rotor off to see if I had one
of those units. Looks like mine is marked correctly. The black mark to the left is TDC, the other black mark a tiny bit to the
left of the unit's red timing mark is where my timing light is showing spark at .136" or 25° BTDC. The scale is lined up with
crank and pick-up screw per Edgar's link, and looks like the 13° called out for the correct timing mark location.
Everything looks right to me, so I'm wondering if this could be a coil problem, as in at 6000 rpm speed they are not
getting enough dwell time to produce the required spark. Have any of you tried different coils with this system? What coils
would you recommend? Also, I didn't see if you guys were running a battery. Running without one is what I'm doing on both
my RD and H1 an wonder if that could be a problem with the triples. Any help and ideas are greatly appreciated.
Regards, Don in Cedar Falls
