Neat trick! ;) If it were me I'd be tempted to turn the idle up a bunch to get home :?

Well, when it broke and jammed up in there, I pulled in the clutch, and my shift light went nuts. It does that starting at 8500, and I bet it hit 10k before I turned off the ignition switch. Even then it kept going for a while, so I guess it was dieseling at that point. At least I know my slotted intake skirts and crank will probably last the season, since they survived that fiasco.

Or when you start finding main bearing cage shrapnel in a combustion chamber you'll know why! :(

It seems both you and Walms do not have your Veypor units programmed to record max rpms attained. :? (nice to have a recall to possibly put your mind at ease for stuff like this)

I don't let a little thing like that bother me, Scott. It's revved faster than that before. :P

Oh yes, thanks, it's fine. I've put another hundred or so on it since the incident and it's as happy as can be. My daughter and I just got back from a 40 mile ride in the countryside, and she loved it as usual.

It doesn't matter, Rod, I was done breaking it in after my first 10 mile ride.

By the way, the Wossners look great. It's wonderful to not have to worry about the Kaw recommended thousand mile break in.

Only the loose rods, but I'll probably get to those this winter. That bottom end has been through some really interesting times, and the case halves have never been parted. I hate to disturb things, but I guess it's about time.
