I simply LOVE the look of your bike. You really belong to the upper class custom H2's builder with this one. Congrats!!!!!

Thanks Jorgen! :D
But I have to give a lot of credit to my cousin, it was his vision, I received 95% of the parts from him, many of them completed, so I was just an assembler and made a few small mod's along the way to get it to fit together.
Looking forward to the first real ride for sure

Took it out for a proper ride yesterday. I haven't ridden a 2 stroke in years and as far as triples go I used to drive a S1 250 many many years ago when I was a kid.
This is a very different bike to ride than anything I have previously ridden, Its like riding an angry Bee!
And all the talk about the vibration had me worried, but it's not that bad at all, longer rides may prove different but my Old Suzuki Gs is just about as bad.

Still a ways to go with jetting and its hard to tell if its rich or lean yet because I don't know the characteristics of these bikes, but getting quite a bog starting around 4 grand to around 5500 around 1/4 to 3/8th throttle, but then it really takes off and pulls pretty hard and seems to want to rev forever. Im guessing rich in that spot but I have to go thru all the steps before I will figure it out.
So jetting needs a lot of work, and the tires, "new" back in '97, seem rock hard, until they are replaced I will reserve judgment on handling, Im not a great rider anyway so I may never know.

The shifting is another thing that will take some getting used to and I hope I don't bend a fork
The all up shifting throws me a bit and the shifting is so light its hard to tell when it shifts up or down!
Also it is very difficult to hit neutral and if you don't get it in natural while its rolling forget it, shut it off and it clicks right in to natural. The clutch does not drag and feels real nice, smooth with good feel. The trans was done by MRE, undercut, ect. I checked the shimming per the resource site when I installed it and it was right, and the forks looks great so I assume thats how it shifts and I need to get used to it.

Brakes are nice, stops well with good feel, not one finger but I would hate that as I am a ham fisted rider anyway!

Cant wait to apply the decals and sort it all out! I moved it to another shop for now where those things can take place.

Glad you are out having some fun! As far as the bog, rich is studdering or 4 stroking, and lean is where it goes flat or bogs. I would raise the needles first to see how that helps. You can also turn in the air screws a 1/2 turn to test. As far as shifting, you will get used to it, just make sure you hold the shifter in the total up position until you let the clutch back out. And with under cut you basically have to go into neutral when rolling.

Don't know what decals you have for that bike, but it certainly looks good without any, at this stage! Also, another convert to the slick-shifting H2 gearbox. The jetting problems you have sound about normal, and you and your cousin have done a great job to get this far, so you will sort it out. Cheers!

I agree, Rod, it looks great without stickers.

I was just out riding raised the needles it was worse dropped them and it is better but I certainly need to start from the beginning with the carb tuning! Its not terrible, I assume from what Ive read here the reeds help with jetting a lot and its not as fussy.
Got the shifting down now also, I thought the controls sucked but I was wrong just a gentle touch and it all works fine!

And I have to say this bike is a SCREAMING BLAST TO RIDE :D :D :D
I can honestly say I have never ridden anything even close, the sound, the power band…. This thing is flat out awesome! even with it not being tuned yet its just COOL
Its a bit deceptive also, Assuming the bike speedo is working properly and I have set it up as per instructions so I believe it is with in a few mph It seems to like to run at around 85mph, every time I looked down I was going 85 and I wasn't trying, just loving the power it has when its revved up a bit! Im going to have to watch it!
Now that being said I have ridden many faster bikes but there is something completely different about riding this bike!
I can now see why there is so much passion over them! And if one had over 100 rwhp which some do just WOW!

The decals are the standard '72 H2 decals in black with gold outline. I think it will look good, I love the old kawasaki decals there classic and I am hoping it adds to it.

I am going to show it to my uncle (Jerrys dad) and my cousin Sue (his sister), his wife Joy and his son Jamie this weekend at our Easter gathering. It will be the first time they have seen it together and completed and seeing he started this project a year before his son Jamie was born its going to be special.

You got bit by the H2 bug! You know , I have had a lot of fast 4-strokes over the years, and I love my current ZX10, but if there is one bike I remember, and just Love, it is the H2. Hard to define what the magic is. We'll have to have a poll on the stripes, show us before you seal them with clear, and we'll decide for you......

I'm not sure I noticed that. The biggest thing about carburetion I noticed with reeds is that you can slam the throttle open with big carbs at low RPM and it pulls hard. Also you need bigger pilot jets because the air isn't going back and forth through the carbs multiple times. Pretty much everything else stayed the same.
