Mamas, don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys.
Don't let 'em pick guitars or drive them old trucks.
Let 'em be doctors and lawyers and such.
Mamas don't let your babies grow up to be cowboys.
'Cos they'll never stay home and they're always alone.
Even with someone they love.

Looks good Tim! All the good cuts of steak are $12/lb in my grocery store. That's for the corn-fed feedlot meat too. The hipster organic stuff is like $10/lb for hamburger. I think there is good money in selling natural pasture raised beef to the hipsters! Sell less cows for more money. I love it!

Hey John!!!

Yep, They are worth more on the hoof now than they ever have been... I raise them to 9 months old and my aim is to sell them right before the Mommas calve with new babies. I feed hay and Promo liquid protein in the winter and pasture the rest of the year. I use sweet feed to entice them and give them a little treat and when they see me get out of the feed truck with a bucket it results in a mini-stampede LOL... They usually weigh between 5-600 lbs by then and right now bull calves are in the $2.50- $2.60 a lb range, heifers $2.20-$2.30. I wish I had 100 cows, I could quit working for other people. A good tall Angus bred heifer is bringing $2000 all day long and a young cow with a calf running beside her is $2500 and up...
