I saw an episode of Chasing Cars (rerun) where Wayne Carrini drove this exact car, but I don't
think he ended up buying it...maybe helped sell it at an auction, or maybe just as a "guess what
I found" segment...?

Sorry. :) I just had never seen a 2 door Volvo station wagon before and thought it looked cool. I also like 2 door 1965 Chevelle station wagons and they are quite rare just like this Volvo.

Volvos are the consummate anti-bike car over here. A few years ago one of the bike mags got a Volvo tow-car, and couldn't stop telling everyone how wonderful it was - Lost about 1/2 their readers, right there. Roger Moore, in "The Saint" years ago had a coupe version of that early wagon, P1800 I think it was...

Volvo sold a lot of those P1800 wagons here in Canada. They were everywhere in the 70's but here in Ontario our harsh winters and the salt that was used on the roads did most of them in. The bodies were biodegradeable. The body style was called a "shooting brake". My brother had several of the older hump back style sedans. Wish I had one of those now.
