We will have to wait a couple months though... 2 ft. Of snow outside right now.
I'm running a "bobbed" fender at the moment. So if there is any difference when I remove the fender, I'll do the 2nd test with a stock fender.

I had a klr 650 water cooled and had a louvered front fender to allow more air to flow to the radiator. Only problem was when I rode in the rain the water would get under the tank too and into the electrical system. I know a louvered front fender ran cooler than the solid one I put on to fix the water in electrical system issue with the louvered one. Rad was offset to the center of the bike though and It had a power vent fan so the louvered front fender wasnt nessesary but It did run cooler with it. Kaw of pittsburgh where i bought it new said dont ride in the rain. I was like what is a duel sport, what if I wanna ride through a creek, in mud puddles or across a river. Morons. LOL Seriously I cant remember last time I rode a distance trip and didnt get rained on.

No one ran the test? I'm still curious. My old school father said they used to fit the piston for additional expansion of the center hole due to heat expansion of the piston being different to the cylinder. He was a fitter and always said he could weld the crack of my arse if he had the right stick lol. Seems to me though on my 4 hole Yamaha the center 2 should run hotter in this theory.
