There are a lot of poseurs all over the place here, everybody seems to have a loud pipe HD scrap metal chomper/'custom'. Most of 'em actually run long enough they make it from one bar to the next bar 2 miles down the road, then, need a full rebuild.....again, and again, and.....again.

Funniest thing I have seen here is two poseurs with them, and a tow strap. One stopped dead at the side of the road, owner trying to figure out why his bike stopped in its tracks...while towing the other one, already broke down, both waiting for the chase pickup truck that MUST accompany every HD on their rides.

Then, there are the mosquito fogger ones.........

Returning to triples, but the same subject, (quietness), when we would go 1/2 way along the straight to time the competition, back in '72/'73, the H2's would always come by with this quiet turbine like "whoosh", where things like manx-Nortons, etc, were just plain loud ! (Hard to describe a noise on a keypad! :D )

As I speculated....the "My dad drove a Harley" crowd is fading away. So, I would image this thing is being marketed to a younger set, hence the sporty look. My surprise is that it's actually being pursued by HD. But as Moo suggests, it's likely the only real HD thing about it are the decals.

Electric bikes (and cars) will take over in our lifetime - it's all about storage capacity, (batteries) and it's no contest - That will be pretty hard for us rattley/smokey 2-stroke loving guys to get used to, but it's inevitable! We are Dinosaurs, but it's been a GREAT ride......... (more wine, wench....!) :?

I would love to ride a bike that performs like our Triples yet made zero noise and smoke even if its an HD that would be awesome :D

Yeah, my everyday bike is a ZX10r - If that thing was silent, and vibration-free, it would be "Something Else".......

According to the news I saw today, it only goes 53 miles on a charge. They should have made it look like a regular Harley for the bar hopper crowd. :P

To me, they just sound like badly running hit and miss motors.

I always thought they sounded rich like the choke was still on.
Never thought they sounded powerful (with the exception of the IHRA Nitro Harley's I saw last week)

Wow, if it's anything like how manufacturers are "allowed" to claim mileage on a new car, it's probably way less if it's ridden like a triple.
