Heck, make a vacation out of it and catch a Mariners game or sight see a bit. That way, if the bike doesn't meet your expectations or the deal just doesn't happen, the trip isn't totally wasted.
You just do NOT want to end up with a higher dollar bike that requires you to put alot of $$ into it just to make it a solid, presentable runner, and in the end, end up having spent way more than you should have, had you started with a decent original and fairly complete bike needing restoration, but costing a third to half as much, as Phil (BBP) described.
