Good deal Lisa. I believe and speculate that if you had have bought the 4 pints of paint, your painter would have a freshly painted bike of his own (or for a customer allowing him more profit) matching your color. :? :shifty:

What really sucks, is that he is supposed to be a friend. Not a close one, mind you, we don't hang out but we can spend hours just talking about bikes and shooting the breeze. It is disappointing, but better to know exactly where I stand, oh well, que lastima.

Dropped the paint stuff off for him this afternoon, he will start to work on the bike this weekend. He does do good work and has a good sense of style for bikes.

So when it's finished, I'll post some pictures. It will be good to FINALLY get the bike working it's best and everything looking good too, it's been quite a few years of more off than on.

Thanks again boys!

If he makes a mistake and has plenty of extra paint, he can quietly fix it at no cost to him. If he has just enough and goofs up, he has to either pay for more paint himself or admit his mistake and try to get you to buy more, and he doesn't like either choice.

I always buy extra paint when painting a vehicle. Cheap insurance if I screw something up. Metallics in particular often won't exactly match from batch to batch so if I run out or have to repaint something getting more could be a problem where as if it's all from the same batch, I know it'll match. IIRC, I used all cheap cheap Omni products and had around $150 in paint supplies for my H1, with a non-metallic base coat and not counting the reducer I already had. If nothing else, extra can be used for touchups down the road.
