Anybody know the type of black finish Kawasaki used on master cylinders and is it possible or practical to have them correctly refinished?

They were black anodized, and you should be able to get that redone without a problem, if you seal off the parts that shouldn't be anodized. These days a batch is costing me about $150 minimum though. You could do it yourself from instructions on the web. The problem is that common black anodizing uses organic dye, and that fades in the sun quickly. If you were to use a brake fluid resistant paint, like Imron for example, it would hold its color much better. Maybe powder coating is resistant, and that would be cheap.

Powdercoating works OK.
