Cody and John are right in that as soon as he accepted Rick's deposit that should have been a binding contract.

Damned straight Dale, Cody was tellin it like it is.
It sucks when people screw others on the forums to make a fast buck.
Recently on the KV75 forum, a member posted a hard to find part.
When a member replied to the post that he wanted it but would like to see pictures, another "member" swooped in and contacted the seller and bought it to resell. The seller thought it was the original prospective buyer.

Why cant folks be decent? Especially in a community like ours??????????????????????

I myself was accused by a member of another forum of doing the same thing once.
He was sadly proven very wrong when I resold the part to another member for less than my cost and shipping.
So where we may think we know the whole story, we may not.
But that is not meant to defend the word breaking seller here.

Well, to get you back up to speed, I just spoke to Mike, he texted me this morning and said that after sleeping on it he would honour the original deal. It would appear that he got several calls saying the bike was too cheap and that he would regret selling it, he simply got overwhelmed by the responses to his adverts.

Was it too cheap ? I reckon that it was priced right, if it had the original air box and had original paint then yep, it could have gone on Ebay for $9,000 minus the fees and people dicking you around. At the end of the day, Mike appreciates that it is going to a good home, he has a leg injury so he can't even start the bike easily and more importantly he needs the funds. . . . . . . Alls well that ends well.

I did not figure it would have been resolved, due in part to the logistics involved, or possibly he had already sold it to a higher offering. But I am glad the seller decided that his word is worth more than a few extra dollars, or whatever the reason. RB, please update the outcome upon receipt of this H2.
