I have seen a bike for sale locally (.bill of sale only)
but this model was never imported to the us ( canada, europe etc)
would this be a problem for registration/title etc.
its 1982 RD350LC.
Texas is quite relaxed at the dmv with out of state vehicles
i looked at the 'how to get a title" but didnt see anything about non US bikes.
nay help or direction is appreciated
cheers mark

As long as they don't need to see a fedral compliance sticker. Here in Ca. any bike that is brought in from
out of state has to have a vin inspection. If the bike is 1977 or newer I believe all US imported bikes that
where for the street have the fedral compliance sticker. I have wanted to buy a Suzuki RGV250 VJ22
for years but no way I could ever legally get it titled and plated. Sure I could fudge the paper work like
some guys do and say it's a early 70's bike but then you risk getting the bike impounded and big fines.

You can get any bike titled going through Vermont but they just started requiring you supply a vin inspection
from your state before hand. Best thing to do is contact your Texas DMV and get the facts. States
seem to change the rules on a regular basis too.

A couple years ago I purchased a '81 RD350lc which didn't have a title. I was able to get a tag and a registration from Vermont which I converted to an Alabama title. Converting the Vermont registration into a title may be more difficult in some states but should work everywhere since Vermont doesn't title vehicles that old.
