I have found two '70 1/2s but both were pro-street. Not what I am looking for. FYI on flexplates, Pioneer p/n 205 (app is '68 Ford/Mercury with FMX) is an AOD (164 teeth) plate with the early 28oz balance weight . Will fit the 250-300, or early small block. No need to get a special built plate.

If you mean the shift linkage it is not difficult to use a B&M shifter (make sure to weld a nut on the shifter to insert a 1/4" bolt as a stop for Park or you will bend the cable) or you can modify linkage from a junkyard donor. If using a floor shift bucket seats are required. I have done it twice.

oh no, i meant the steering linkage. 250-300 too tall for the early bodies. but, id go small block before i went 'big' six.

the 429 car i had was actually a 70 1/2 falcon (torino). i need to dig up pics of that car. was a 70K original one owner i stuffed the bb in. I also have 3 70-71 torinos but thats another thread in itself....

Oh, yes that would be a challenge. I have Mustang II suspension on my two-door and TC suspension on the sleeper 4-door. I will have to investigate if the racks would make it any easier.

Check out this site. The 250 is the same family as the 170/200. The taller six is the 240/300. I was thinking of the 240 (for the removable manifolds) but the 250 could be passed off as a 144.

Falcon production ends in Australia next year, I think - They are all buying small cars, or S.U.V's. http://www.curbsideclassic.com/wp-conte ... 2013-w.jpg

I wanted to import a '72-'73 XA with a 302C for the longest time. Are two door cars really cheap there? I heard the four doors were sought after while the two doors were tossed aside. Could you post me one? Pretty please?

The 2-doors are pretty much a distant memory, and they haven't built anything like that for ages! G.M. Holden did a 2-door "Monaro" a few years ago - Pontiac GTO body, (Gasp!). I'll post you a cheap XA-C Coupe, if you can send me a '69 H1.......!

250/300 are the same block.. just fyi. 144/170/200 the same block, basically.

from what i have read, the mustang rack can be made to make it work or a seriously modified oil pan.

much as i hat eto say it, id LOVE to stuff a coyote V6 in this car. my wife has a 2011 mustang with one and it flat out rips for a little motor.

I had considered a supercharged 3.8 from a late '80's T-bird at one time. Still might try it. Check these sites out.
