I just watched a segment on Fox News that had a billionaire from some tech endeavor, that is planning a real, live him on board Mars landing and exploration in 2018.

Now, I have been on a virtually food free, very low food input diet for over 3 years, and still, I don't think I could store enough food for that trip, both ways, it is 8 months to, and from here to mars and back. I don't even have any idea if suspended animation would help in not requiring food input for nutrition on that trip. Even coma patients require some sort of nutrition, even if it is only by I/V.

And, whom will they meet there, maybe Ray Bradbury, and his "Martian Chronicles" residents, or, a group of entities from another planet yet, as in "Mission to Mars"?

The possibilities are endless. Who knows, that nutcase billionaire just might pull it off!

He has to go to Mars to relieve the cameraman who's currently there.

GREAT pic. When I still lived in California, I used to go to the Long Beach Hi-Performance Car Swap Meet, to vend my car ignition system conversions. One of my friends, an ISP tech, used to tag along. He and I used to "speak" back and forth in the same noises as those Martians did in the film, "Mars Attacks", and, it drove the guy with the front suspension drop kits in the next booth absolutely bonkers crazy. He really needed to grow a sense of humor.
