Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only reason for the original petcock to be operated by vacuum, is to prevent hydrolock of the engine..??
I'm fed up with leaking 4 hole gaskets, gas on the floor, creating dangerous situations in my garage etc.
I've replaced this 4 hole gaskets 2-3 times, used the sanding method, fuel resistant grease etc. etc., right now, I don't trust the existing petcock at all, don't move the lever no matter what...!
Btw, I use Dutch Shell V-Power fuel, which contains less than 2% ethanol.

Personally I use the stock vacuum petcock and it works fine. If I had to change to something else, I think I'd use a high quality valve like a Swagelok 3-way and adapt it. I've never heard of an aftermarket petcock that is trouble free.

I'd suggest you check fuel flow after installation. Some folks have reported good results with aftermarket petcock while others have experiences holed pistons from lack of flow thru one port.
Don't forget to cap the vacuum port on the carb and turn off the petcock after ride.

The Z-1 Parts petcock looks different, though.
I already bought a few original new small o-rings for the vacuum petcock, probably makes it better, but the mean reason for another design petcock is the fact that the 4 hole gasket dissolves in modern fuel.
The Z-1 parts petcock doesn't have this infamous 4 hole gasket.

I got an Kawasaki 4-hole gasket from Jessbikes and it's been working for about four years now. It's also the same as the one that some Suzukis use, like the GT550 and GT750 if I remember right. Maybe the problem is reproduction gaskets made of the wrong material. Just guessing.
