Could you take the C clip and see if a 5mm screw ( same size as the oil pump bolts ) fits INSIDE the C clip?

I'm ready to start with the pins now. I have a piece of 1/2" diameter 304 stainless steel and borrowed a carbide insert grooving tool for the C clip.

5mm screw fits inside clip, 6mm does not.

Since the original part was JIS from the late 60s, I wanted to verify it was still the same as what is currently available ( DIN )

In today's world, just find one that APPEARS period correct, and machine the pin to fit it up, done, finished, ride it. I am SURE a factory Kawasaki clip IS available from any dealer. In the time this has been discussed here, a package of them could have been obtained, and the pins cut already.

mach3restore has the original clips so I wanted to make sure they fit. As it turned out, the original clips are the same as the new/current ones.
