With all the bad news around this week, what about something positive - Aussie two wheel domination! Casey at Laguna Seca; and two wheels, lots of Kawasakis, twisting roads thru the french countryside and Cadel Evans winning the Tour de France!! I'm sure a lot of motorcycle people watched and appreciated the Tour, I thought it was fantastic!!

I'm really glad of that myself. Not only because he deserved it, but because Contador didn't. Also great to see that Hincapie's work paid off again.

Yeah, the teamwork and, indeed, the sportsmanship was great to see! Sport at it's best. Stamp out drugs in sport!!

It is interesting to see that Ducati can't make a bike that handles properly, but then I'm just an old Kawasaki guy, and I have had my say......... .

I can remember being chased by a lot of long-wheelbase bevel- drive Ducs, back then - I reckon the H2's handled "okay".

I was amazed to watch a late stage in the Tour de France, one of the downhill sections coming out of the mountains in the fog... unbelievable on those skinny tires! Those guys are brave!

Laguna Seca is just up the coast from me and over the GP weekend we see tons of riders coming through town on the way to the race. It is a great time to ride HWY 1 through Big Sur. I was hopeful for a Spies win but happy to see Casey beat Lorenzo.

I have heard that the 11.1 version Ducati is going back to a main frame attached to the motor - the bike that Hayden was on the 11 version is frameless with the engine as a stressed member. This could be the source of their handling woes....
