Yea alot of people do that. Argue whos fault and if the cops dont show and youre word against theirs, they tell their insurance company it wasnt their fault. Happened once to me, after several phone calls they paid, then they dropped the fool for making a false report. The dufas had a hard time explaining how I drifted backwards into him when the road angle was downhill toward the light.
I told them all, regardless of who's fault it is, make the cops come out so there's an official report. No more 'We'll deal with it later' and driving off.
