Pab, in your thread on Brad's board (KTOG), I suggested you offer it on eBay in the 4th reply, as I suspected you had a value in mind that may be above what U.S. board members might consider reasonable. I was afraid you wanted to get 6 or 8 thou.

some people lack of ability to differenciate between a fully restored or beautiful original bike and their own. They see a '69 H1 sell on ebay for 10g's and think "Holy Crap, Ive got a $10,000 bike in the garage!!!!"......... Regardless of the fact that their own bike wants $7000.00 spent on it to reach the same level.

Everyone knows I an the worst on valuing bikes (dollah a CC being my motto)

I know the 69's go for higher prices. pab's bike looks to be mostly all there, he has the stock pipes, but no air filter system. The porting hurts value as the main value is in restoration. Paint would have to be redone, no matter what. All the little stuff redone or replaced.

So what do you guys thing the bike is worth? I'm thinking 2,000-2,500.00. Am I close? :wtf:

2000-2500 would be a fair price. 3500-4000 on ebay possible. 10,000. No way.

Most here are very savvy and knowledgeable about triples and know what it will cost in $ to get it road ready. ebay is where you'd possibly rope in someone to pay you that inflated cost. You may find a Japanese bidder that wants it. If it were mine, I'd keep it and finish it out.

So what is the purpose of a private message scrambler73?????? Here are a few words: What part of private is unclear. Nothing to hide, but privacy is more than a personal preference as it is a societal value! Enough said.

Yes, I have it. Yes, I am pushing for 10000.00 US. If anyone wants to buy it. It is available. Shoot me a pm and I will entertain an offer.

I appreciate all the 'help' in establishing value.

Jim: I do not 'like' e-bay but I guess it does allow for the free market to decide. Was hoping for it to go to someone who enjoys and knows the bike, thus my use of these message boards. After all the whacks on the head, I am ready to part it out.

Hey JaMoo: I do have the stock rubber air cleaner 'system' BUT no paper filter. Guess I need to open my boxes, find spares I have, and make a list.

Cannot do much about the paint, though it is representative of the time period. I believe paint was done by the Egyptian in Dayton Ohio and I believe he could bring it back to its retro look. It clearly has not been stock for at least 40 years.

Pab, it was good of you to post about it for the reasons you said. I suggested eBay because of your desire to get quite a bit more money for it than guys on the triples boards are used to paying for similar triples. It allows overseas bidders to pay the overseas prices that they're used to paying.

And why hide your asking price? That just signals trouble, like gas stations that don't post their prices clearly. :P

That's the problem pab, you have come to boards of enthusists. We love, ride, restore and modify these guys. It seems you just want to get the most money out of yours. And that's fine, but runs against the "grain" of most triple boards.

You have seen the fair valuation by the guys that know, and you are still way over on your expectation. So you have to do what you thik is best.

Dont go there buddy... I did NOT send you a PRIVATE MESSAGE... I sent you an Email.

And there was nothing in your return email about keeping some super-secret, lets keep the price between us, wink, wink, nudge, nudge :e9

"societal value". Give me a break.

When one of my friends on here (and yes, I do consider some of these guys actual FRIENDS) asks "how much does he want for it"... Im going to tell my FRIENDS the price.

I dont know you from Adam, and as far as I know you dont even own a '69 H1? Have you made any contributions to the board? Have you introduced yourself?... NOPE, you just come on here and try to sell something for a ludicrous price......... RED FLAG

A few of us (me included) have been bitten by smart ass, know-it-all, 1-post wonders coming on here only to sell their crap.
Not to say the bike is crap, cause it looks like a good project for someone..
It is most definately OVERPRICED though.

As has been stated ad nauseum, PUT THE BIKE ON EBAY IF YOU WANT THE MOST MONEY.

We KNOW how much these stupid things cost to restore correctly. And to start with something in that condition for "close to 10g's" is nutballs.
