Barry, it's going to be hard to go home and look at the devastation around you, even though you still have YOUR house. We are thinking of you and your Family!!

Thanks Rod, yeah we know, lots of years ahead of this I think. A lot of you have seen the videos I've made riding through my neighborhood - including the infamous H2 wheelie getting pulled over by the cop. I'll post it again below since almost all of the houses on this street are gone. You really don't see many houses until the end.

Tomorrow they're letting us back to our house from 10am to 6pm but we cannot spend the night. They even will pick up garbage bags of our spoiled food. Hope to be back home in the next few days. The Civil and Government entities have done an incredible job restoring services.

I'm happy to see your home is safe Barry. You are going about this with the right state of mind. It could have been much worse for you. Prayers out for your neighbors.

No reason too Jim, no power, gas or water yet, it's a war zone up there, at least they're letting us have time for surveying damage and getting clothes and other things we need. I'm much more comfortable here.

Good news: They let us back in our house today, no serious damage, little smoke smell, part of our backyard fence was down and a little singed and the house will need a wash (we painted it last month). The street behind us and continuing west are mostly gone though and some houses on our side of the street too. Even the fish survived although hungry. Electrical and water ON and OK.

They lifted the evacuation for my area and we can return later tonight but we'll go back in the morning. Just made the inside of the boundary- the road - Flying W Ranch road was the cut-off, everything west of that is still evacuation but there's not much left there, most houses are total losses and gone completely.

It has been hot and dry in Ar and the rural fire departments are being kept busy. Since last Tuesday our temps have been 106-108 with 40% humidity. I know that % is high for Co but here we are not use to that dry of air. The low humidity is one reason the temps can go so high here. We are looking at another week at least of these conditions. I do not miss fighting fires in these conditions.
