Well, why so secretive? :eh:

So you think it's like the Ford California special, just a dressed up stocker.....?

The gentleman that owns the car is a pretty unique character, He owns some phenomenal stuff and whilst we didn't see it all I found it hard to believe that One man alone could acquire SO many interesting vehicles and other "stuff", I was just trying to gauge how genuine he was about not only this car (of which I know nothing about) but also about some of the other stuff that he owns, I am pleased to say that what he has told us so far all has a genuine strain of truth to it

No car cover, but could do a little cleaning and it could look pretty awesome. I really have this thing for convertible cars. And car washing would be a great thing to do. It's been my hobby every weekend. Though I don't do it for others free. Lol. :)

Well, heres one odd ball car thats got me interested. It surfaced on our NZ auction site. Thinking about buying it. Just checking if I have any hope of getting any spares somewhere over here.

I reckon the Corvair is a good thing - if you can drive an early VW, you are set. Google" '65 Corvair Corsa", one of my favourites! (Come to think of it, they do handle a bit like an early triple.........!!

Well, according to a few road tests that GM had done independently to try and regain their dignity, these things werent any more unsafe in the handling department than any other 60s vehicle. After that, they fitted a full independent wishboned rear end in an attempt to convince buyers it really was ok. Too late though, the damage was done, especially as some famous dude was killed in one. How many do you reckon are still around in Ozz??

I reckon there would be about 50-60 in all of Aus, but that would only be a guess. It's a bit like the triple thing, with the internet, and crazy enthusiasts, there is always support, and parts available. Good luck if you go that way.

Once GM changed the Corvair tire pressure recommendation to 18 front, 30 rear, they didn't swap ends so easily, but not every gas station attendant knew about the pressures.

^ Wow, so the weight distribution was like a triple, too?! The '65 was a nice looking car for the day!

I had a 65 2 door, standard 110 engine w/ 4 speed. It was fun to drive and actually handled quite good, it almost felt like it leaned INTO the corners! It was impossible to get stuck, having the weight of the engine / trans over the drive wheels. It also had tons of rust including the "Flintstone floorboard" where you could put your feet down through to the ground and paddle like Fred!  Never could get it to make that bongo drum sound though... It was handy when you get pulled over, just lift the floor mat, set your beer on the ground, get your warning (lucky that time) and pick it up and take off like nothing happened! :e11 Boy, I did some stupid stuff as a PAT (Punk Ass Teenager). :wtf:
