Just a thought, You have kept the H2 paint and looks - what about some "right-way-up" forks from a late model ZX-9r, for modern damping and handling, but still the trad. look!!??

You have the right idea.
I do like the right way up forks in a little bigger diameter that will allow me to keep the turning radius. Inverted might stray away from the retro old school look.
