Always, always get neutral when at a light or a stop. Just common sense. If you have a slight clutch drag, engage neutral before you stop rolling. I always look over at bikes sitting at the lights and the rider is holding the clutch lever down, to me this an inexperienced or lazy rider. Same goes for the foot draggers, after the light goes green, get your feet on the pegs and stop trying to sweep the streets.

Some of the safety folks say to always stay in gear in case you find a vehicle barrelling toward you and you need to move in a hurry. I normally prefer neutral myself.

Thank you Gentlemen for the advice.
I do have a second 72H2 and it does not do that.

It all has to do with the clearance between the starter gear and driven gear. Some are close, some aren't.

And as far as stopping in gear, I go to neutral and move off to one side or the other in the lane. So I'm not in the direct path of the lady on her cel coming up at speed...... :wtf:

Yeah, H2's (or any Kawasaki, for that matter) are not designed to sit at the lights clutch in, in gear. Motorcycling 101. Exactly what DGA said.

I have used that feature on hill starts at lights for years , just role the kick start lever back a bit ,wont roll backwards , dont need brakes applied, when lights change let clutch out and your OFF !, as as soon as ist gear moves it disengages the kick start gear !!, NOTE , I have had cases apart for crank seals and there were no signs of wear or damage to ist gear or kick start or cases in case you were going to ask

Come to think of it, I have done that too. I need to remember to use that "feature" more often... it's been a while. :)
