Hi All,

anyone here also notice many drivers lately are just Not Paying Attention?. The other day I was driving my 1976 CB550 and had 2 people pull out from side roads right if front of me within 6 miles. Yes I was driving with my high beam on, wearing reflective motorcycle jacket and helmet and actually driving at near the speed limit.

It's crazy how many people just do not stop at stop signs, just slow down and then cut right out in front of people . Happened to me again yesterday and the guy driving was a local fireman whom should have known better.

Everyday inattentive drivers there out there that's just life on the road , be alert and drive defensively is the only answer . On a separate note I doubt riding with high beam on helps because it's kind of a distraction and also can provoke a nasty attitude from a driver that might otherwise had no attitude at all.

Happens here all the time now. I just assume people will turn in front of me and if they don't, it's a good day.

Right... trusting anyone else to not do the wrong thing is risking your life. Out here in the country drivers tend to be more respectful than where I grew in the DC suburbs, but they're still far from being safe drivers and they still glue their attention to their phones.

Guy in a truck purposely hit a motorcyclist because he didn't like how he was driving.

One way I drive defensively is to avoid rush hours and highly congested roads. There are roads where I live that I will never drive on.

Also, as I'm sure all of you as well, I trust no one.

I try to clear away from traffic 'clumps' and assume every single person is out to kill me. Rapid eye scan constantly and don't hang around cars. All that does tend to take your mind off other pressing problems of the day though.....

That's one of the best things about riding a motorcycle. You think about nothing but riding.

So true - my daily car commute includes 45 minutes each way on the busiest highway in North America..I can't go 10 yards without turning on some music. On the bike, it's just riding.. I have blue tooth and tried listening to music but it just depreciates the experience.

Agreed.... one of my principles... Real bikes don't have stereos..... or need them!
