Yes a very sad day. It has been a tremendous pleasure and honor to have known Hurley for the last 20 years. Such a wonderful person.

I first met Hurley when Lorraine and I were driving back from Daytona passing through NM. Hurley joined us for breakfast and he was soon drawing combustion chamber and port shapes on the menu. You could feel the passion and enjoyment he was still getting from his 70's career.

Later I asked him if he wanted to ride one of my bikes, after thinking about it for a few days he said yes, it had been many years since he had been racing. Over the next 3 years, he and the bike got faster and faster and we had some great races together. That passion and enjoyment were there again in those moments.

I too miss him already.

Dave

Great pic of him. We just never know when our time is up. I would imagine he held the ideal that he would rather go quickly, doing something he loved, rather than fading away in a hospital over years. Very sad to hear.

I first met Hurley when we were parading in the Isle of Man as guests of the Collins and Russell Kawasaki team.
What a lovely man he was.
So quiet but so much to say but never bragging about it.
Im lucky to have been a friend.

It was in your pits at Barber where I met him, (and you) for the only time.

I never meet Hurley, But he provided me with lots of info and suggestions , as did Dave Crussell and Tuner , while I was restoring my A7RA, and was an awesome helpful person, who was willing to help anyone when asked. He was also a great rider(highest placing Kawasaki H2R rider at Daytona) and it can happen to anyone, so please ride like every cage driver is going to do something stupid and try to kill you. God speed to you Hurley and prayers for his family

Just back and forth emailed with Kevin Cameron. We were a band of brothers, we worked to attain great personal and team results, sometimes at great peril for the band from everything from outsider to corporate entities worst desires. We attained everything from great personal and team success, to failure as well. We ended up disbanded as a team, but will forever remain "we band of brothers". Hurley, Harold, Kevin, Steve, Irv and I. We didn't always agree on everything, but we never allowed it to tear us apart, and we all learned, from each other.
