Is it normal for Labyrinth seals to leak in to the adjacent cylinder?

Don't know much about them, but I think they need pressure differensials between them adjacent crank houses to seal, as you get when running?

I believe it's more about the labyrinth getting partially filled with oil and because the pressure pulses are so quick, there is not enough time to push the oil through the seal.

You kind of picture them as "speed bumps" for the air/gas/oil mix. Static they leak. At kicking speed and up they seal. But as mentioned above, they need something to push from the other side. That's why they can't be used on the outboard ends.

They use them on machine tool spindles open to the atmosphere but they are pressurized.

We have them on our air bearing spindles that pull a vacuum through the shaft, but as Andrew said, there is a constant source...

They upgraded the Shuttle SRBs to a type of lab seal after Challenger. They went from straight o-ring to a combo o-ring lab seal.

So I've been testing my seals and found two intake leaks (center & RH) and the RH end seal. Which fits the problem I was having, RH cylinder running hotter than the other two. Plus my jets seem unusually large. Intake leaks are all set. I believe the "official" rule of thumb for pressure is maintaining 6PSI for at least 6 minutes. Mine lost a 1/8 of a pound after 8-9 minutes. My end seal is leaking around the shaft or just outside that? as seen in the video. Should there be zero leakage here & this seal needs to be replaced? I have a new one to install.
Right now i'm running 120 mains, 52.5 pilots, needle on 2, 1-1/2 T out A/F Screws..... Runs fairly well...but is not wheelying or anything fun yet. I keep adding fuel it keeps getting better. But compared to some of the guys settings i've seen I seem to be pretty large already with 120 mains? BTW, I'm at 600-800 above sea level.
