The stock Subaru tyres do have to be changed for Snow - they are $hite, But with snow tyres on our Imprezza I take the 20 MPH bends at 45+ FAR in excess of any . . . ermmm . . "normal" person :P It's quite an expense to buy, and change them . . and then remember to change them back, but, in the long run WELL worth it!

As to the car wash, well, they are generally "recycled" water. so much as you wash the salt off . . You just spray it back on again - the big killer is when the snow has gone and rock salt gets stuck in the crevices and lips, as soon as the snow is gone for good, drive it 20 miles in HEAVY rain spray from the tyres will fetch most of the salt from the same crevices that the tyres splattered with road salt - then power wash in every nook and cranny that you can find . . . . but, in truth, your kid will have outgrown the car by the time it starts to rust . . . Unless YOU are going to lock it away and give it her husband back in 25 Years to restore it as Vintage

How's your daughter liking Syracuse ??
Hope all is well ...

She's great and likes it, but we'll see how her first winter goes. She was back here in Florida over Christmas in flip-flops.

This certainly was the year to move to Syracuse after the last two record severe winters, this is the first time I can ever remember that we have had almost no snow and record high temperatures, hopefully it will continue, we only have about two and half months to go and we are in the clear.
I'll be heading down to Florida in February to Delray Beach for some flip flop action myself, my mom is turning 80 and we are having a surprise party for her, can't wait to hit the beach.
Glad things are working out for your daughter.
