old FZR 750 from the early 90 is rather cheap in my country and the 1000 FZR too
for two stroke old 350 Yamaha RD lc is still cheap too even if the price is rzaising up 8-)

We have fairly cheap FZR 1000's but the 750 is rare and the LC rd is just as rare or worse.
in USA certainly but not in Europe

I have two of the older sport bikes mentioned here: A 1986 VF500F Interceptor and a 1982 GPz750.
The Interceptor is a fun bike but a major PITA to work on. Some parts are non existent and you are never far away from catastrophic engine failure.
The GPz is a joy. Easy to work on and fun to ride. Parts are plentiful and cheap. Any of the GPzs are great bikes.

Did the shocks help? They were worse "weavers" than the H2's...........

I have a 89 FZR400 and it's such a great bike, actually Barb's bike. Super light, razor edge handling and 14,000 redline with 60hp.

I had a blue 90 that was warmed over a bit to 75hp

I have a '82 GPZ750 like the one pictured, great bike. You might also consider a ZRX.

I wouldn't mind having a FZR400. They are getting pretty hard to find, at least around this area. I can't remember the last time I saw one pop up on craigslist.

Well that explains it. Both of 700 interceptors came with parts bikes. ...
My budget has gone up. I'm a working man with a large family...the last free years have been pretty good financially though...Usually when i get a hundred bucks i am a wreck...what to spend it on...i have lots of hobbies and no time. Now I'm looking at a nice chunk of change that i can spend. First time in my life. Think I'm gonna have a stroke. My shortlist is as follows....gpz550..fz600..and maybe...just maybe a speed triple although that's a bit out of my original budget.

Finally did it! After weeks of scouring craigslist and doing some research.
I bought something i didn't even know existed before this began. An MZ skorpion. UK designed, German built, Italian suspension and brakes...and a Yamaha 660 single wrapped up in a small compact light weight package. It's the model with the half fairing...just the noise and then the panel that runs down the side and in back of the seat..
Pics to follow..haven't unloaded it yet..a HELLACIOUS six hour (total) drive through torrential rain last night to get it...
The gentleman a bought it from was great. A real enthusiast and it was such a pleasure to talk to him about road riding and old bikes.
Thank you all for your input!

That is good to hear, I'm sure you will be happy, Just for a Laugh, my definition of a sports bike is a Lime-green Kawasaki with about 180 H.P. - but I am a bit Biased!!! Let us know how you get on with this bike in the immediate future, it is genuine motorcycling, keep us posted!
