If I had a 1929 2-stroke I would ride it to John's house! :e11

I understand your frustration John,

I completely understand it too. If you only see what happened at the Gap and what I've posted on this forum thus far, I'm a hot mess.

I don't know anything about carb rebuild kits for the KE100, but the ones for triples will render the carbs useless. I'd stick with stock Mikuni parts if something really needs replacing. Usually jets can be cleaned, so all you need to change is the float needle and seat, and you can use those items from the kit, or just buy them separately.

The only rebuilt kits I can find for the KE are for the Mikunis used in the later models. I had purchased the Keyster kit (I have since read not to get these) thinking it would work with my older carb only to find next to nothing was usable. It was actually cheaper to upgrade to the Mikuni than to try to get parts for the old carb.

Too much carbon on my plug after riding home from work yesterday. Replace ride around town at lower speeds, plug clean and tanning the insulator. Take it on a 55-60 mph run, carbon appears on plug. Get home, pull head. Carbon, carbon, everywhere. I'll take too rich on the main jet for $500 Alex.

Yesterday I spent my time cleaning the carbon deposits on the head and piston. If I have time today I'll pull the carb and swap the main jet with the (gasp) Keyster one (it's temporary). I seem to recall either 80 or 78 being stamped on the main jet that's in it. I have a 77.5 to try.

I have a nice little DT100G in the garage........I got it with 470 miles on it........have 700 + now.........I love that little bike, it always starts right up (I bump start it in 2nd gear).........I had to replace the rubber intake manifold as it was vacuum leaking.........fix a bunch of electrical stuff.........It's street legal, but I just putt around the neighborhood on it.........I have never gone very far on it, just because I'm big and it's small.........I'll pull the H2 out for that.........but Hats off to you for going the distance !

I also found that it's easier to put mine in 2nd and walk it forward while sitting on it, than it is to use the kick starter. A DT100 can be made into an excellent Dragon bike, by the way.

Verified it had a Mikuni 80 main jet on it. Crapper, excuse me, Clymer states it should be a 77.5.

There really is a big difference between the Mikuni and Keyster main jet. Mikuni opening up to a cone. Keyster is just bored out. Probably would never have noticed without reading this forum.

Before I get new plugs and fire it up again, since I leaned out the main jet, should I richen the needle jet?
