Title update on the RGV and the 72 H2. I started the title process on the H2 last Oct. I bought the frame on ebay with Oregon lien papers, never again.
Took five trips to the DMV and many phone calls. Ending up with about a 1/4" stack a paperwork but was finally successful yesterday and have plates.
They have to title it as salvage/reconstruction but I told them from the start it doesn't matter. This is a bike I am building from left over parts but
will be a keeper. Going to get everything out of all the boxes and make a finally parts list. Time to finally make the trip to the powder coaters. Bottom
of motor has been assembled for 3 months just setting on my bench. Will have to check and make sure it fits the frame with the Suzuki rubber mounts
installed.
As for the RGV title, went to the DMV first on Tuesday and was told I needed another reg form (124). For some reason they didn't want the reg 31
witch is the chp verification and the reg 124 is the form for getting a dmv 17 digit vin plate. Made another appointment with the DMV but was not going to be
till April 13th. Decided yesterday to go to a different DMV office and was there for 4hrs

When I finally got up to the window I explained the situation
on both bikes and told them Sacramento headquarters told me to call them from there if I had any problems. That may be why they finally titled the H2, don't
know for sure. After the H2, the fun began with the RGV, 3 employees got involved and they called Sacramento at least 3 times

No decision was made so
they collected all the fees (346.00) and said they are sending copies off to Sacramento for further investigation. Good thing is they gave me a temp permit
good till the end of May so at least I can ride the bike long enough to see if it's something I want to keep.
I must have at least 200 hours of my time in research and phone calls to get these two bikes legal. I read several months ago that you could legally title
a grey market 2-stroke here in Ca. if it is at least 25 years old. Should have saved or printed out the info but stupid me, didn't. I did call Sacramento
twice before I bought the RGV and they did confirm that I could title the bike. So, my fingers are crossed, all my ducks are in a row, we shall see.
