Why do I have some distant idea that the PR postal service is actually the U.S.P.S. :eh: - I don't have time to google it . . . .

Well, it's a US territory, so I assume the USPS serves it.

Ohio to Puerto Rico (sitting for days) then somehow to Colorado?

The post office in Puerto Rico has had some amazingly frivolous attempted lawsuits like when they were sued by an employee whose favorite chair was lost during relocation and the original chair was no longer made.

A friend shipped a package to me at my Miami address via USPS Priority Mail 2 Day Delivery. Shipped on June 12th, expected arrival in Miami was supposed to be June 14th. It actually arrived on June 22nd at 9.16am. If I had wanted it to take so long, the cheaper price would have been paid, but what annoyed me was that priority 2 day rate was paid. WTF?????????????

There seems to be a problem with the USPS in Miami. I've watched tracked packages sit in the sort facility there for 5 days before making their way to Chicago then on to Canada. Stuff coming from California takes less time even though its twice the distance from me.

Problem with the courier sevices is that its hard to get good people while paying crap wages. I've run into some pretty clueless people when going in to pick up a parcel. They have that "I don't know and I don't care" attitude. You pay peanuts you get squirrels.

If salary made any difference, UPS would be far above all the others. One of our drivers was complaining a few years ago that when he retired he'd be getting only $60,000/year, or something like that. He did a few things to us, like entering that he delivered an overnight package before he did, so he wouldn't have to come out of his way for the "before 10 AM delivery". Also leaving a package sitting on our USPS mailbox 3/4 of a mile from our house to save a couple minutes.

THIS may change, but I also like, when you need a shipper's mortor-and-brick office, USPS(s) are easier/closer to many, at least in many states.

60k a year. Poor saps. Makes me despise our UPS guy even more. "If it's brown, flush it down". He's an arrogant jackass I have to deal with everyday. He's gay too. I think he's a heterophobe. Lays on his horn and expects me to drop everything to sign his bs so he can get to Tim Horton's for break. I'm with Barry. Cut the USPS loose from the teet. They had a good run gurgling in the public trough. They are going to crash and burn eventually anyway.
