That is an SS model, low pipes, versus TT, high pipes. Not only do they clean up very nicely, they make great daily rider bikes, and aren't bad for reasonable length trips.

Those bikes were a lot better BSA, than a BSA ever was.

One year decades ago, I rode the W2TT I still have, over 1,200 miles in 4 days, no problems, nice ride.

A fellow nearby had one of those on Craigslist a month ago.
It had no cylinder on it and had sat in the weather for years.
He wanted too much for what it was...
Got a line on a C2SS that I may pick up cheap to part out.

I recall while working at Kaw in 71-72 one fellow brought his blue W2 in for service like once a month.
He put 3-5 thou on her every month or so.
Said he had ridden all up and down the East coast.
They must have been a comfy ride.

Love the hate, that's all a fella can do. It turns out the engine isn't locked up at all, it's the dry frozen chain that is stuck on the front drive sprocket. I found neutral and the bike kicks over great with a lot of compression. Nice bonus.
