I took my KH500 out for a ride yesterday and it has old style K&N's on it when at freeway speed's (with helmet on) air intake noise is loud..like in a loud howl ! ..would foam K&N's tame this down?

Personally speaking.....

That "howl" is one of the things I loved best about my ole H2.

I had Uni-Pods on my KH400 and she still howled a bit too.

Amen brother, that howl was a part of the experience that should not be removed! My '73 H2 sounded like it was going to suck your underwear right off your butt(and that's why I left my air cleaner out too :o ). :D

on my H2, its a battle between the chambers and the intake howl, from the drivers position anyway. I'm pretty sure the neigbors think the pipes are winning though :lol:
If the pistons develop a rattle eventually, I'll never know

Air filter setup on an early h1 under load in second or third?

Not a Triple, But! - Early Suzuki 500 with the 34mm Carbs. Put it into 5th gear at about 25mph, and give it full throttle - The neighbourhood Dogs begin to Howl!! That is intake ROAR!! :lol:
