Just signed up and wanted to say Hi. Long time rider, 57 years old and remembers when these were brand new. Purchased a '73 Kawi 350 S2A and should get it in May. Looking forward to learning about these bikes.
Not my first restore but my first 2 stroke. Last time I worked on a 2 stroke it was my 1966 Yamaha 100cc twin jet, fun times.
Can't promise not to ask stupid questions but I won't start and "oil thread"

Ordered a couple of manuals so I should have a month of reading before the bike shows up.

Here are some pics ,,,, hopefully

It's rough but looks like it is all there.

Once I get it going I will post up a build thread.

Between this and the other sites on the net I should be able to learn as I go

It's going to be a long month of waiting for it to arrive but my shop manual should arrive today from Amazon.

cheers
Gary

Welcome Toxic......you might want to update your profile to give some indication of where you're located. Might help when start asking around for parts.

Also what other bikes do I see stashed away in your garage ?

Finally, you'll definitely need to come to our annual Deal's Gap meet. This year is our 15th. There are no fee's or dues. Just a bunch of us wrenchers getting together. It's a real hoot.

2014 Fifteenth Annual Deal's Gap 2-Stroke Meet
HQ’s: Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort
TIME: Sunday May 4 through Saturday May 10 (Sunday night ~ Saturday night).

1. You can camp at HQ's
2. You can acquire a room at one of the locations listed below.
3. You can find someone who has a room who might share.

http://tapocolodge.com/ .....close to HQ's but expensive
http://www.fontanavillage.com/ ... close to HQ's, decent price

Do a search for places in the area of Robinsville N.C.....

Hi Toxic, nice to meet you. Last year Agent H2 and his wife stayed at a neat motel in Robbinsville called "The Two Wheel Inn". It was very reasonably priced, and included a motorcycle garage for each room. It seemed like another good option for the meet, although it's something like 18 miles away, whereas Fontana Village is about 9 or so, I think.

Beautiful motorcycles you have. Any of those would fit in with our old triples just fine if you feel like making the meet.

There's a Canadian triples board too, which you may already know about. It could be helpful for trying to buy parts or to get things plated (etc).

Welcome, and great starting point for a Triple project - it appears mostly complete including air box and rear grab rail, which many times go missing.

Here's another very important Resources site, where you really should peruse as well. It also contains manuals in PDF form. http://kawtriple.com/mraxl/

Be sure to sign up on the Canadian board Gary.
Find out about a few "Northern" versions of the gap.

Did you go and meet Lee when you bought it?
Im pretty sure those pictures are from his barn shop in Quebec.

You can tell, I bought it from Lee just from those pics? I belong to a local Norton group and I hosted the meeting last Tuesday night and I mentioned I was looking for a Kawi 2 stroke to a fellow that happens to be best friends with Lee. Spoke to him at length, very nice guy. He is coming to Ottawa in May and will be dropping it off at my place.

I had no idea there were so many "boards" about 2 strokes. All great resources
