I have been trying to sort out Kaw bolt codes and at a loss for missing ciphers.
Typical = xxx n yy zz (s)
n = ???
s = ???
yy = dia
zz = length

xxx
BOLTS/SCREWS
110 = hex head
112 = upset
113 = hex
114 = hex
115 = small upset
116 = hex
172 = stud
211 = pan head
212 = countersunk
220 = pan head
221 = countersunk
222 = oval countersunk
291 = slotted

I'm pretty certain that somewhere in the code is thread pitch and plating type.

Does anyone know anything more than what is shown? What are the alpha characters showing? What is the diff between the various hex codes? Suffix letters?

Thanks, Gary. That was in some of my material if I had just looked!

So "n" is material finish. Does anyone know what the "n" codes represent in terms of finish?

That must mean that "xxx" codes contain pitch info as well as head type?

hhmmmmm your post made me think, (I know scary right?) that perhaps the N is for Nickel plated?

:think: :think: :think:

On the old board, I do recall someone who posted some good info about the codes.
He was also selling a bunch of it too I recall.

Yes, I think N, H, & D are chrome but not taken time to sort it all out. I was hoping someone had already ciphered it.

I was thinking it must be for chrome but you could be right III, might be nickel. Looks like it is indicating a different type of bright finish though, at least by the examples below.

113N1240A RF footrest mtg bolt

114N0825 brake pedal bolt

318N0800 gear change linkage nut, RH thread, 8mm (LH thread 8mm nut is 92017-010)

312N0600 master cylinder lever nut, 6mm

312N0800 master cylinder lever adjuster nut, 8mm

110N0625 master cylinder holder bolts (superseded by 112N0625)
