My horn is just like that one!

It IS the correct horn  however, it is mounted outside the frame rather than on the innerside of the downtubes like all '69 - '71's should be :eh:

Does this still hold true with the Eurospec point iggy bikes? (I'm thinking the extra coil(s) under the tank may make the standard H1A horn location impossible...) :?

Where the horn should mount is where the third coil is now located, but I think a previous owner relocated it from under the seat.

My bike also has stainless socket capscrews on the engine covers, stainless nuts on the crankcases, a non-standard brake perch, an S3 sidestand, Dyna ignition wires, an incorrect "Kawasaki" decal on the tank, cheap pillion pegs & black painted filter housing/chainguard (should be bright zinc/chrome). I did, however, replace the enricher lever with the correct type!

The frame & engine numbers are where it gets interesting. The frame is KAF47190, which is spot-on for an H1A. The engine is KAE12617, which seems to be too early. It has points, not CDI. I thought that maybe the engine had been replaced at some point, but I've recently been in contact with the 2nd owner (a mate of the 1st owner), plus spoken to Jeff Eeles (Mr Kawasaki of the Australian VJMC) who knows the bike from new, and they both swear it's the motor that came with the bike. Jeff also mentioned the crank had been replaced with the last NOS one that Peter Stevens (Melbourne motorcycle dealer that Jeff used to work for) had in stock. The bike had apparently been raced.

Ahh, the mysteries of our triples!

Jeff really remembers stuff, he always grabbed the H2 parts book whenever he saw me ;) . Funny seeing him on his 1300 though (he is a touch short).
