Some people amuse themselves and fight the good fight by messing with the scammers, stringing them along and wasting their time.

Curious to know what city you saw that listing in Mark?
It was in the Albany, NY listings yesterday but had been flagged for removal.

Yup, anything that sounds too good to be true, usually is!!!

A few years back I almost got scammed when selling a car... They wanted to pay by certified cheque but wanted to hire a transportation company to drop the cheque off and pickup the car at the same time. Just because everything seemed to be going too smooth, I asked what bank the cheque was from...
An American bank, I then called my bank to find out an American certified cheque is worth no more than a personal cheque because the US/ Canadian banks don't have electronic verification... Essentially it would take 3 weeks to clear.
As soon as I mentioned car car would be available after the cheque cleared, I never heard from them again.

Be aware of certified Cheques as scammers use original looking bank issued cheques now ..
Back in 07 a buddy had a cert cheque from a buyer. he asked the buyer to hold off on the pick up, the buyer said No.So Jayson told him he'll have to wait..took the cheque to his bank..upon investigation it was deemed it really good fake in which the bank told him to bring ALL Cert cheques in first !
It's only CASH for me :D

Heck, cash can be counterfeited on a $100 printer just as easy as a cheque can be embossed certified... ;)
