Maybe my answer is to make one out of sheet metal the same way as my pipes.

I think you might have a problem with warpage if you are planning on welding all the pieces that are shown in that pic.

I can't comment on warpage but the pic above maybe a bit deceiving... All tangent edges are shown. In reality, there are only 4 strips there plus a full bottom to be added.

Thanks Mark, I wish I did... I rely on using photographs made from maximum zoom to eliminate as much perspective as possible, then use them in a sketch picture in Solidworks. That and a measuring tape, calipers and a level.
A bit of work but in the end, it's worth it.
