I could understand your point about being excessive if my clutch were tough to pull... :P
3 heavy and 2 weak doesn't translate into equal pressure to me so pick your poison!

It's tougher on the cable, and the actuator. It's like octane, just enough for it to work.

I understand that I'm in the minority here, but I can handle it...
This debate has gone on for years and I've made the effort to try other triples clutch at a few rallies and I'm yet to find a lighter clutch pull than mine.
So what's up??? Could it be Barnett's sent me the wrong springs or could it be they have changed their springs since you've purchased them???
The only thing that stands out is not many people have the ball bearing release.
LC's bike has the Z1 springs (I believe) and a sytech actuator.
It feels good as mine but I still say that mine has less static friction... Once you over come this it seems to be just as light as my setup.

A good combo for the 500 is Vesrah SK401 springs ( intended for KZ1000) These are longer and have a thicker wire diameter than the stock springs, but still don't bind up upon release in the 500.

These springs are considerably stiffer than 10% over the stock H1 springs. As such a Kaw ball bearing release , or Sytec release (or current clone) is a must. The old nylon/steel release will NOT work as it deforms and won't release the clutch.

While you're there you may want to consider a ball bearing pusher ( mushroom shaped thing installed immediately under the pressure plate)to prevent any chance of pushrod welding during high rpms clutching (as in a WFO plug chop). Larry at Redline has these....

The SK 401 springs will NOT work in the 750, as its springs are 4mm shorter (as per Glenn's manual) than the H1's.

Using the wavy springs is optional (I don't run them)....

As previously mentioned, clutch cable routing to keep the bends as gentle as possible is a must too...

I'll bet your H2 already has the late Kaw ball bearing release too! 8-)

Z1 Springs make the stock action heavy, Barnetts make the pull near on Impossible and AWFUL on the earlier H2's (ball lifters from the later model are just bearable). The Sytech (Or current equivalent) is wonderful, the addition of the Sytech cable makes the action simply awesome - as good as any modern hydraulic clutch you have ever pulled!
.
Cable routing is paramount - as is an original, genuine nylon lined cable, the repops are O.K. but they are just steel on steel. "Cheap and Cheerful" would be the addition of 2 or 3 Z1 or barnet springs.
.
I have fitted a few of the German verson of the sytech, with good cable routing and heavier springs they have a pleasant action

^^^^ You mention an H2 in your post. The spring setup is different on an H1 (which bike the poster of this thread has).

You also mention how nice the sytec cable works. Where are these cables (or equivalent) available?

To the above points
That cable that Heide used to sell was also great
Should have kept the Sytec and cable from the last bike I sold you Rick :banghead :banghead

My H2 has 5 Barnett springs with Sytec and good cable and it has easier pull than some stockers
Also like the versa plates and stock steels
The above + extra plate mod makes clutch slipping a thing of the past with street tires
