This is 1975 Khs 500 is there something missing here? should there be 3 of these black plastic covers? would like to try to get this bike sparking! your help is much apreciated thanks

Those are magnetic pickups and '74-'76 models are as you have pictured.

Can't help with the spark problem, but I do know that after breaking both of my ignition pick-ups (broke end of crank), they no longer make these. On ebay there are NOS pieces ranging from $100 - $169 each. So you might want to make these are still good. Good luck

That's how it's supposed to look. There are carbon brushes that go from that plate to the rotor under it. Make sure they aren't worn out, and it's sometimes helpful to scotch-brite the contact rings where the brushes rub on the rotor.
