My heart stopped.

In a dark, dank corner I uncovered several cartons, I recognized them as crankshaft cartons.

I thought they were empty, but no -

My pulse quickened as I worked one of the cartons out, covered in dust, misc parts and fixtures, no easy task.

Opening the carton, my heart stopped - three rods, obviously two stroke!

Quickly I took the number from the carton and made my way to a computer to cross reference the number -

Fantasies races in my head about how much I could save on a rebuild now, and still have a few to sell, it was hard to type the part number in I was so so excited, how had this slipped by me!

Had to be the H2 crank, had to be, maybe the 500, maybe a few of each!

Enter number - click the fitment and POP!

That was my bubble being burst....

JetSki crank assemblies, Blah!

They'll still sell, just not as exciting.....

Yesterday, I bought this paddock stand from Aldi for $49.99

Image

I assembled it & discovered the solid plastic swingarm holders slide forward on my wife's Honda VTR250. Hmmm, no grip... so I bought this rubber mat from Bunnings Warehouse for $12.90

I cut out two squares, and with a bit of drilling, two caphead screws & some JB Weld I modified the swingarm holders

The stand now works perfectly! No more rolling the bike back to lube the chain

thats cool John... Kawasaki no doubt hit a HUGE home run with that bike. For the last few years, I've been keeping an eye on craigslist for a cheap/crashed one.. they are usually TOO crashed or not cheap enough. Patience is a virtue.

It is a lot of fun,

Keep an eye out, I think used prices are gonna be falling very soon, with the next generation out next year......
