Sad to hear about your wreck.Glad you are mostly ok.My Honda Gb500 has a light that comes on when the side stand is down, sort of effective,My silverwing won't crank at all when it is down. That's the best way as far as I'm concerned. You could probably buy something like that on a late model bike and adapt it.

saw my buddy deron almost eat it if off a cliff at the gap due to that. he didnt drop it but he almost did and somehow saved it. Only takes one pucker event and usually you never forget to check again. glad you got through it relatively 'ok'. look at it an opportunity to upgrade the bike too.

Sounds like you are lucky to be here , no good about you bike but there repairable , we complain about all the safety thing now a days but the side stand cut out is not one i would take off a road bike , its too easy to leave it down Ive done it more than once on my H2 , but got away with it  , , hope your back on the S1 soon

Thank You All for your considerations :)

Maybe we can convert this post into a brain storming opportunity. Seriously. Who can come up with a functional and Reliable sidestand safety gig, either rubber or electrical in nature. A ready made kit. I'd buy 4 right now at this instant.
