Hello dear Triplers,
Have a question. What colors did they sell the 1975 H1F. Did the 1975 H1Fs have CDI ignition or points? If it’s points, how much of a challenge is it to convert to CDI and how much would I prepare to spend.
Also, if I have to get a stock paint with decals, who is the best and fair priced resource in our forum, or if there is a way to get the color code and get it done by local painter. From your experiences what would the paint job cost roughly with decals for 1975 H1F. Do the stock air filters make a difference in any way(Don’t think so just asking). Are the H1b’s factory faster than the H1Fs with Horse power..
Thanks in advance for your responses.
Thanks

H1F came as a CDI model.
Removing the air horn and rejetting will increase performance... filters not so much.
H1F came in blue & brown. http://kawatriple.com/model/500pic/500.html
Get decals from RB on ebay.
Air box & exhaust reduced power of H1F compared to H1B.

What Dale said, mostly....LOL I prefer the individual UNI foam filter myself. If you stick with the stock air box, at least get a K&N replacement. And the 73-76 500 got bigger and heavier, and did lose HP over the B. It also has rubber motor mounts which help greatly in comfort.

Thank you guys. Also, can you help me with a lead for getting a reproduction seat cover for H1F. Where do I start for restoring the decals&paint job ‘H1F candy sky blue’. I just got the motorycle :) figuring out to see if petcock has an ‘fuel off’ to turn off preventing fuel into carbs avoiding overflow(following RD350 way).
Thank you

http://leftrightandcenter.net/ is a painter that has a good rep.
Petcock does not have an "OFF". It is vacuum and is off unless motor is creating vacuum or petcock is in "PRIME" position.

Unless 50 or so years has made it so, it leaks.

I have tried, many other's.

Do not leave on, relying on some old rubber and pitted alum.

I would not, unless???

cliff

p.s.
stiff rubber and pitted alum is thought to be nasty
leads to trouble nd surprises down the road

trust me
