I predict there will be smoke in the morning.

Jim, thanks for staying with me on this. A lesser man would have given up a long time ago. When I see you at the Gap next year dinner is on me!

Now I’m antsy to get the newly painted bodywork back.

The next thing I want to do is put the oil injection pump and lines back on the bike. I think premix is a hassle on a street bike.

Thanks to all,
Mark

Amen to that Mark. Pre mix sucks on the street.

Good morning guys,
The bike started right up on the third kick this morning with the 34s and FPP pipes. It settled down to an idle pretty well and revs right up. Triples sound so cool! I’ll be picking up the painted bodywork at the Barber Vintage festival next month.
Now to get busy on the rest of the bike. Deals Gap is only about half a year away.
Progress!

Mark

So glad to hear she is running now. Glad you stayed with it! Jim is like me, it drives us crazy if we can't get something working, and we get tenacious until it does. Another one of those "who needs instructions, it's only 2 wires".......

If the previous owner had remembered the low speed coil change and it being the point where the ignition stopped working... Glad it's figured out.

I am so glad it is running! Now get to wrenchin!!!
Be mindful of the red line with the FPPs. I have a set that I bought NOS and ran for a while. They are an excellent chamber with a big hit. But they will let the motor turn well past 9000 with an undisciplined throttle hand. I shifted mine at 8000.

Hey Tim,
This one is going back to stock. I already have one obnoxious 750 triple in the garage. I need one bike that is at least semi civilized. I pulled off the 34mm carbs this morning and put on the stock carbs. The bike starts right up and idles well, and is pretty zingy. Stock exhaust will go on the bike also. I’m working on putting the oil injection system back on the bike now. I’ll start a new thread for that.

Mark
