Hi all,

My 74h2 has recently started to leak oil from behind the drive sprocket. I removed the sprocket and it looks like the seal can be replaced with the engine in place (as per the video on replacing the LH crank seal ???), can anyone please confirm this is the case?

Many thanks

Marsdenh2

Hi again,

I did some more searching and have found a previous post on the same subject and yes it looks like its an easy replacement with the engine in place

Thanks again

It is, but don't forget the skinny o-ring inside of the sleeve.

In theory, your leak may be because of a bad or missing o-ring, rather than the seal.

The o ring is super thin, and they literally get destroyed once the nut is torqued.
