I'm restoring an S2A 350 which currently has a 1.85" rear rim and a 1.6" front rim. Just about every online source of reference I can find suggest this is correct but I have an original Kawasaki dealer's workshop manual which states that the S2 had a 2.15" rear rim and a 1.6" front rim but the S2A had 1.85" rims front and rear. I have to replace both rims so I want to get the correct size for my S2A. Anyone got any suggestions? Could my combination of rims just be a case of using up old stock (for the front rim) around the model cross-over period?

I "believe" the correct size for both S2's is 1.60 front, 1.85 rear, and then the S3's increased to 1.85 front. About midway down this thread from the KTC forum, Shiloh comments his S2 had F 1.60, R 1.85 originally on his bike.

S2 and S2A were 1.60 front, 1.85 rear.

Thanks for the responses, gives me something to think about. My Kawasaki workshop manual definitely shows the S2A in the same group as the S3, S3A, KH250-B1 and KH400-A3 regarding rim sizes, i.e. 1.85B x 18W! You'd like to think they would have the correct data in their own workshop manuals.

Here is one source: http://www.kawatriple.com/S_fiche/s2fichee2.pdf
I have others that confirm the same.
