Took a nice ride on my new (new to me) 2001 Kawasaki Voyager. Wow what a bike, it didn't skip a beat for over 2000 miles. I headed north from the Carolina coast, first stop in Detroit to see friends and family. Then north to Glennie MI (near Alpena) to see more friends. On the way back down I spent the weekend at mid Ohio for vintage days. Then rode back Sunday. The weather was great the only heavy rain I saw was leaving NC and then only saw a light drop or two the rest of the trip. I didn't earn an iron butt, but did turn in one 796 mile day. It was nice to see members from the KTOG forum as well as this forum at mid Ohio, I think a great time was had by all. :thumbup:

Yes Jim, I was by my self I dont think many riders would be up for a 800 mile day. I forgot to include the mileage for the trip, which I think is incredible for such a big bike. In 2,187 miles I used 41.513 gallons of gas, which comes out to 52.687 MPG. Of course that is calculated with the bikes odometer which I am sure is a bit off. I think it is safe to say that I was getting very close to 50MPG on the trip as most tanks I went through I went about 200 miles and put in about 4 gallons on most fillup's.

It's really nice to get that kind of gas mileage. The Guzzi gets about 50 on average, and has a 6 gallon tank. On the last multi-hundred mile trip I did on it, I got over 300 miles on one tankful and hadn't hit reserve. That seems strange when you're used to a triple, doesn't it?
