the TX 750 engine, even the new one with oil radiator and so on, still blowed up easily in continental Europe (UK Yamaha was cleaver, they never sold it in UK).
The XS 500 had big head trouble too in Europe (the TX 500 was never sold).
We drove them full speed on the red line and over the triples or Z or Hondu four or Yamaha RD engines said nothing about this but the TX 750 disliked :mrgreen:

And of course Yamaha went on to build the R1, and if you've ever pulled the trigger on one of those, you know they got it right.... :shock:
