I'm currently restoring a 1976 Suzuki GT250A. I had one as my first street bike in 1976. I finally found one on Ebay and while not in "as described" condition, it is the best I've seen thus far. So right now I'm doing a general cleanup and basic stuff to get it running. This winter I'll want to have the engine cases and whatnot cleaned and get into more detail.

The trouble I'm having at the moment is I can't seem to get registered at the Suzuki 2 Strokes forum. According to the board, they send a registration email to me but it never arrived. I re-registered (or tried) and it says my username is already being used. There doesn't appear to be a way to contact the administrators so I'm at a loss on it.

I figure by hanging around here I can glean some knowledge that may be helpful in restoring the only bike I ever regretted selling.

Had a T500 'Cobra' back in the day, ('68!) hope there are some Suzuki guys around to help you along!

Plus one of the Suzuki guys here might help get you in the other board. Welcome, Max, good to meet you.

Yep I checked my junk folder right off. Its kinda a weird deal there. You can't contact an admin person unless you're logged on.

Good deal, thank you very much. We're headed out for our Sunday ride (my wife and I) and are hopefully gonna look at a 73 GT250 that's in "showroom condition" ;)

Any bets on the "showroom" being a filthy, rusty, stuck motor mess??? :banghead

I'm having an incredible streak of luck!!!!!! Yesterday we rode the backroads for a few hours to meet this guy with a 1973 GT250 in "original showroom condition".

http://toledo.craigslist.org/mcy/3192640209.html

It was indeed original, and very, very clean. Not just for a 40 year old motorcycle either, I mean clean. It started from stone cold and rode very well. All I could do was give him his asking price. I was stunned. This is the first model year for that bike here in the USA. I can't believe my luck.

Very nice! My first street bike was a 73 GT250, in green, but it was a little on the rough side. You did good!
