For the Euro folks out there, I will be racing in the Endurance race at the Spa classic at the end of June. I have a P&M Z1 entered for the event and have teamed up with a Canadian rider.

Hurley is making the trip with us, so if you are at the event come and say Bonjour.

Dave

Just finished the race weekend at Spa on my P&M Z1.

I arrived in London last week to prep the bike. I fitted the lights required for the endurance event and raised the seat to make it more comfortable.

When we got the bike on the track, the handling was excellent with a Dunlop front and Avon rear. The engine had a flat spot at 6k and then developed a really bad misfire at any revs. We borrowed and fitted a new Boyer ignition box.

A really poor start put us 67 out of 70 into the first corner, Jeff my co-rider took us back to 32nd at the end of the first hour, then I took us to 16th at the end of the 2nd. Then the ignition broke again and we were out.

The bike is now heading to a guy to be fixed before the ManxGP. The bike really handled well, the power was pretty poor, this will be on the fix list.

Was great to see the triples guys at the track, thanks to everyone for popping over.

Dave

It was a great race from Dave. We (Jeannette and I) watched his race till the bike broke down. We were in the box near Daves and watched them when they tried to repair, but it wasn't succesful, sorry about that, but it was a lot of fun to watch how he catched more and more riders and his helmet light was funny. It looks like from outer space and you could identify him well from far away. They were too busy so we didn't want to stress him in the box and that's why we only watched him.

Hope to see you there again,
All the best from Germany
Ralf

Those of us with "Street" H2's were allowed to do 4 laps of Spa  . . . Along with Several Ducati's of the '70's . . . I took my H2c that I have owned for 30+ years - It has a motor set up for drag racing so any more than a couple of seconds of throttle would eat the motor (and 4 laps is around 20 miles  ) - I started at the back and made it to the front just before the end of the first lap  - My preservation of the motor means that the bike lives to fight another day :D
